GOOD Images from Middlebrook
Walking around Middlebrook, there are plenty of images of kindness and GOOD things going on in the school. From signs that say, “Wilton has No Place for Hate!” to lockers covered in positive post-its, the school brims with positivity and support that students have for one another.
WHS Girls Swim/Dive Team Make Waves with Food Pantry Donations
The swimmers and divers on the Wilton High School Swim/Dive Team harnessed the same amazing team spirit they displayed in the pool to help out the local community during their annual swim team banquet this past Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Rolling Hills Country Club. As the girls gathered to celebrate their first historic undefeated, dual-meet season, each team member brought personal care items to donate to the Wilton Food Pantry.
The Wilton Food Pantry serves an average of 70 Wilton households a month, comprised of approximately 150 individuals (seniors, adults and children). Many of these families are part of SNAP, the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which does not cover any personal care items.
Junior Pauline Hendricks, whose passion for giving back to the pantry started as a Girl Scout, coordinated the drive. The day after the banquet, Hendricks was joined by her teammates Natalie Ellenthal, Izzy Fischetti, Amy Malburg, Suzy Malburg, Caitlin Sullivan and Marra Woodring, who personally stocked the more than 200 items collected by the team at the Wilton Food Pantry at Comstock Community Center.
