Tomorrow is the last Saturday to shop before Christmas, so Blue Star Bazaar has an added incentive to stop by: the store will host the Granola Bar’s Food Truck outside of its shop location at 148 Danbury Road. The Granola Bar is a new restaurant in Westport created by Julie Levitt and Dana Noorily, co-founders of OATS Granola, and it’s created a lot of buzz on the Fairfield County foodie scene.
The Granola Bar truck will by at Blue Star Bazaar from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday. The eye-catching purple food truck is an extension of the restaurant and serves fresh food plus gourmet coffee from Toby’s Estate in Brooklyn (as well as hot chocolate and tea). Blue Star owner Megan LaBant Abrahamsen has invited customers to enjoy hot beverages, bakery treats and sandwiches while they shop for Christmas.
“I’m so excited to be hosting the Granola Bar food truck. I got to sample their Toby’s Estate coffee the other day. It’s worth a special trip just for that coffee. I know a lot of people will be finishing up their Christmas shopping the weekend of the 21st and I thought the hot beverages, baked goods, and sandwiches would help make shopping a pleasant and local family experience instead of a chore filled with traffic and long lines,” Abrahamsen said.
During the last Saturday of holiday shopping, customers can visit Blue Star Bazaar’s Wilton location to find holiday gifts for adults and children. Top gifts for adults include jewelry, watches, handbags, scarves, and picture frames. For children, top picks include vintage inspired toys, winter pajamas, boys’ neckties, girls’ dresses, and picture books.
Blue Star Bazaar’s holiday hours are as follows: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Sunday noon – 5 p.m.. The store is also open Monday, Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and on Christmas Eve 9 a.m. – noon. They are closed Christmas Day.
