BREAKING NEWS:  Thursday, Jan. 14, 12:30 p.m.–The state of Connecticut has added another option for residents age 75 and over to register to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Residents in that age group without the ability to apply online can call the Connecticut COVID Vaccine Appointment Assist Phone Line at 877.918.2224 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Family members can also submit information online for their loved ones.

State officials warn that scheduling appointments may take time due to the strong demand for the vaccine, but the state is increasing its effort to enroll providers and staff. The state expects access to appointments will improve rapidly in the coming weeks, especially for priority populations.

All information submitted through the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS) or the assist line will be kept private and will only be used to schedule vaccinations.

Those with email addresses and the ability to schedule online appointments are asked to apply through the website rather than use the phone scheduling line.

The link also contains a detailed and extensive list of frequently asked questions about the vaccine, which officials say will ease any concerns members of the public may have.

    1. Hi Helga, I’m not sure of your specific situation, but right now only individuals who are 75 and older can schedule a vaccine appointment. All others in Phase 1.b. will soon be able to but Gov. Lamont hasn’t specified when those will start scheduling.

      You can sign up through the VAMS system. If you’re having difficulty, you can watch this video for step by step instructions. Or, if you live in Wilton, call Stephanie Rowe at Wilton Social Services at 203.834.6240.
