Wilton High School graduated 336 students on Saturday, June 18, with Mother Nature smiling down upon them and gifting them with a gorgeous day. This year marked the 58th annual Wilton High School graduation, and in addition to the weather being memorable, so too was the keynote speaker selected by the students: retiring music teacher and band director Frank “Chip” Gawle addressed the graduates and their families who filled Memorial Stadium.
He was followed by the Class of 2016 co-valedictorians Sabrina Roseman and Shannon Golden.
But the best moment above all came just following the instruction for the graduates to move their mortar board tassels from the right to the left, followed by the words, “Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the Wilton High School Class of 2016!” The sky above the field filled with blue and white graduation caps, as the newest WHS alumni celebrated their crowning accomplishment.
