The State of Connecticut will conduct an emergency preparedness drill designed to simulate a major ice storm on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Wilton’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will activate on Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. and will be conducting the exercise in concert with the State EOC.

CT residents are encouraged to download the “CT Prepares” mobile app, which provides information and alerts to Connecticut residents during emergency situations, and also helps residents prepare in advance of an emergency. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple iTunes Store and from Google Play for Android devices by searching the keyword “CT Prepares.”

All Wilton residents are also encouraged to sign up for Emergency Notifications by going to the town’s website and signing up for Code Red and Email Alerts.

Any communication issued by the EOC and emergency personnel is supposed to be clearly marked with “THIS IS A DRILL.”
