David Schlichting of Wilton passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 11. He was 73, son of the late Carol and Annie Schlichting.
He graduated from Wilton High School in 1971 and later from Norwalk Technical College in 1983. He worked as an auto mechanic for Wilton Chevrolet and later for the Wilton Department of Public Works until his retirement in 2014. He loved his collection of classic cars and hot rods and he enjoyed showing them at car shows. He was married for 39 years to his loving wife Nancy. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister, Carolanne Keely and her husband Dan; his niece Sarah Keely and his nephew Adam Keely;, his stepson Stephen Maksel and his wife Diane; his stepson Scott Maksel and his wife Kirsty; and his step-grandchildren Shane, Madeline, Bryce, Ryan, Sofia and Abigail Maksel.
