Amanda Greenberg is a Wilton High School senior who spent the last five weeks as a GOOD Morning Wilton editorial intern. She collected advice from outgoing seniors to the juniors who make up the Class of 2016. From the academic, to the social to the emotional and the surprising, the advice these young Wiltonians have is tailor made for next year’s seniors.

Senior year of high school can be a stressful time, but it can also be one of the best years. The members of the Class of 2015 have been through it and share their advice to the incoming seniors.

Lehne Camp:   “Senior year is over in a blink of an eye, so don’t worry about the little things, try hard, and have fun. Don’t stress about the whole college application process; it looks intimidating, but everything works out and you will end up where you’re supposed to be.”

Brooke Wistreich:  “Stay positive throughout the college process! Everything happens for a reason and everyone ends up where they’re meant to be–even if it isn’t the school of their dreams. An optimistic outlook will make senior year much more enjoyable, so instead of obsessively worrying about next year, do your best to live in the moment.”

Nick Frangoulis:  “Stay on top of your work but also remember to have a social life; the most important thing is to have a healthy mind, because if you can have hope and be good for yourself than anything is possible in school.”

Caroline Costello:   “Enjoy every moment cause it goes by with a blink of an eye. Really talk to everyone–and I mean everyone–for most of the incoming seniors have been together now for thirteen years. Getting out of the groups high school has caused us to create will make your senior year so much more enjoyable. Also, don’t care about what other people will think, do what makes you happy.”

Michael DeLissio:  “My biggest piece of advice would be to not get discouraged by college decisions. You’re going to get into schools that are above you and rejected from schools that are below you.”

Kendall Keough:  “Work really hard first semester because those grades are sent to colleges.”

Sophie Paddon:  “I think seniors should begin to see the world as they want to and have their own perspectives, rather than seeing it through the Fairfield County bubble lens.”

Hunter Shipp:  “Don’t be afraid to ask the teacher.”

Jeremy Greenlee:  “I really encourage you to focus on making a big impact on your resume and your college essays; all they are looking for is that you are a well rounded person who shows dedication towards academics and stuff outside of school, but don’t forget to have plenty of fun!”

Nick Osmun:  “Don’t bring drugs into school.”

Amra Sabovic:  “Set goals for yourself. Although you might have doubts along the way, never give up on your dream because once you achieve it, all the hard work pays off.”

Alex Rossi:  “Definitely write your common application essay over the summer, to get it over with; and try not to stress out too much because everything works out in the end.”

Brittany Sullivan:  “Your four years in high school fly by, so make the most of it but don’t stress out and make sure to put in effort with everything you do. If you start the college searching early then you will finish the college applications early. There’s a college out there for everyone, popular or unpopular–who really cares. Think about where you are most comfortable.”

Ryan Black:  “Get a senior lot spot, it’s 100 percent worth it.”

Julia Cooper:  “The time goes by so quickly so don’t stress too much and try to make the most of your last year with your friends. As for the college process, you’ve probably heard a million times but it’s true:  everything works out and you will find the right college for you.”

Justin Vincent:  “Seniors should attempt to take a book out of the library because we all know nobody does.”

Monei Walker:  “Remember to enjoy senior year. It goes by so quickly, it’s easy to miss. Continue to work hard and stay positive! This year can be so amazing if you make time to take it in.”

Connor Peterson:  “You can have the worst grades and GPA, and still get into some of the top schools in the country as long as you have an outstanding essay and letters of recommendation.”

Dan Marino:  “Work hard and don’t slack off as much.”

Annika Sheehan:  “Live in the moment because this year will go by way faster than you think.”
