The Wilton League of Women Voters, along with co-sponsors Wilton Library and GOOD Morning Wilton, will again be hosting two evenings of debates with candidates running in Election 2025 for Wilton’s major municipal boards.
On Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., candidates for the Board of Selectmen will debate, followed by those running for Board of Finance.
On Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., candidates for Board of Education will debate, followed by those running for the Planning and Zoning Commission. Both evenings will be held at Wilton Library in the Brubeck Room, and also streamed live and recorded by GOOD Morning Wilton.
The League is now collecting voter questions for the candidates. Voters can let the candidates know what questions and issues are on their minds as they face our upcoming election. As in prior years, questions are being accepted in advance submitted via email by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13. Include a name and address with each question.
The LWV will also be taking written questions from the floor of the Brubeck Room on the evenings of both debates. As in prior years, all questions must be applicable to all candidates and pertinent to local issues relevant to the board for which they’re running. Questions will be screened for legibility and duplication, and may be combined with other questions or condensed.
“Our town functions through the hard efforts of the volunteers who serve on our boards and commissions. We thank all our candidates for stepping up to run, and for making themselves available to our constituents at these debates,” Wilton LWV Convener Pam Klem said.
