BOF Member Rudy Escalante Endorses Kim Healy and Matt Raimondi

I am very proud to endorse Kim Healy and Matt Raimondi for Board of Finance.

Kim Healy

Kim has a long history of leadership in local government. She was elected to the Board of Selectmen in 2021 and quickly established herself as a strong and thoughtful voice for residents. When issues of financial review and conflicts of interest arose in town, Kim did not shy away from voicing her concern. Kim has always shown her willingness to stand firmly for integrity even in difficult circumstances.

I have found that Kim listens to colleagues and to residents who want their concerns heard. She treats differing opinions with fairness and respect. I believe she always holds the long-term interests of Wilton as her primary consideration.

She has been proactive on issues of transparency and accountability, ensuring the town remains responsive to the citizens of our community.

She is a Certified Public Accountant and former auditor. These skills will be particularly valuable to the Board of Finance.

She has emphasized the importance of sound fiscal management, balancing investments in community priorities while keeping overall spending reasonable.

Kim was appointed to the Town and Schools Needs Assessment Priorities Committee — now called Capital Planning — to look at the long term requirements to maintain the town buildings. Kim embraced the responsibility of reviewing complex infrastructure and capital planning with the financial resources of the Town.

I have worked with Kim on many projects together and I believe she has the professional expertise, fiscal discipline and respect of her peers to be a great addition to the Board of Finance.

Matt Raimondi

Matt has spent the last four years on the Board of Finance and the last two years as the Chair of the BOF. He has run the Board in a very open and data-driven manner. He encourages discussion within the BOF and works hard to make sure everyone is heard. Matt has run the town survey to ensure the citizens of the town can also have a voice.

Matt has worked very hard to make build bridges with all the groups involved in the budgeting process including the Board of Education and Board of Selectmen.

Matt has the financial acumen to understand the budgets presented to the BOF and the impact the operation and capital spending will have on the financial health of the Town.

Matt is the managing partner and chief investment officer of a private investment firm. He grew up in Wilton and is deeply invested in the town’s future. He is focused on the sound financial stewardship of the town.

I have personally found Matt to always be willing to listen to my input and he went out of his way to make sure I, and everyone on the BOF, was involved in every decision of the Board. I look forward to continuing to work with Matt in the years to come.
