With all these cold days, it is time to think SPRING…and register your child for Wilton Little League (WLL). To register your child for T-ball through major leagues, please visit www.wiltonlittleleague.org. Participants must register prior to Jan. 26 to avoid being assessed a late fee.
Wilton Little League is pleased to announce a variety of complimentary offerings this year that are included in registration:
Wilton Little League is offering complimentary winter workouts to all 3rd grade and older players with their spring registration. Children must be registered for spring baseball by Jan. 26 in order to participate and allow for the league to properly staff the workouts.
These workouts are intended to help players shake off the rust developed during the winter and be better prepared for the player evaluation/tryout process described below. If your child is registered to participate in the clinics, WLL will take that as their commitment to attend every one.
Four winter workouts will be instructed by baseball professionals from IST Baseball. These clinics will be a great opportunity to work on skills and drills and further the development of the kids.
All clinics will take place at the Wilton High School field house from 3-6 p.m.. Clinics will be one hour and the players will be divided up by age.
The clinic dates are Sundays, Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22.
Additionally, during the spring season WLL will be offering coach pitch and machine pitch players the opportunity to work with IST Baseball professionals on pitching, catching, hitting, infield and outfield skills and drills. This will be a great opportunity to prepare these players for future leagues. These developmental workouts are complimentary and included in your spring registration.
Player Evaluation/Tryouts
This year Wilton Little League will be conducting an updated baseball player evaluation/tryout process. Evaluations/tryouts will move to Mar. 1 and Mar. 8 from 4-6 p.m. in the Wilton High School Field House for players in grade 3 and up. Independent evaluators will be brought in to observe the players and assist with league placement in AA, AAA, and Majors divisions. Additionally, this evaluation process will assist with who is eligible for the spring travel teams.
