A Parent’s Guide to Executive Functioning

September 24, 2024 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Free

Is your child struggling with daily routines and tasks? Do simple tasks take them an excessive amount of time or often go unfinished? Are you frequently asking them to focuscalm down, or hurry up?

If so, your child may be having difficulties with executive functions — the mental processes that enable planning, memory, task initiation, completion, and emotional regulation. These skills are crucial for independent success both in and out of school, yet they’re often overlooked in child development.

At this program hosted by SPED*NET, Jeffrey Ruggiero, an educator with over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience in special education, will provide valuable insights and tools to help your child thrive, including an in-depth understanding of executive functions, practical strategies to support your child’s development, and hands-on activities to reinforce learning. He currently serves as associate head at the Southport School.

For parents of children K-8th grade. Register online.
