SPED*NET: The Power of the Words You Choose to Use
December 1, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
SPED*NET Wilton believes that the language parents use has a compelling influence on their kids. It plays an important role in their intellectual, social, and emotional development, including their emotional regulation; social-dramatic play, social competency and friendships; kindness; and engagement in school.
On Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 10 am, pediatric language and literacy specialist Lydia Soifer, PhD, will explore the power of words and how you can influence your children’s learning and behavior with the words you choose.
Dr. Soifer is a language pathologist with over 45 years of experience in clinical and private practice, as well as university teaching. Founder and director of The Soifer Center for Learning and Child Development, the first multidisciplinary private diagnostic and remedial setting in Westchester County, she continues to provide educational and advocacy services to families on behalf of their children, in coordination with other professionals and schools.
This presentation is sponsored by SPED*NET Wilton in partnership with Wilton Youth Council, Wilton Public Schools, and Darien SEPAC.
