Winter Tracking and Tree Identification Walk with Woodcock Nature Center

Ever seen some strange-looking tracks in the snow or mud and wondered what left them? On this casual excursion through the woods at Woodcock Nature Center, learn to identify tracks and signs of different mammals that live around the trails!

Very few mammals in Connecticut are true hibernators — while some slow down and take long naps, many remain active through the winter searching for food and staying warm. Along the way, we will also look at trees and learn how to identify certain species using bark patterns and texture.
