There’s a new twist to Wilton’s Scarecrow Fest that adds a dose of family fun for residents. A Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt has been added to the mix by the town of Wilton for this weekend (Oct. 20-23). Among the hosts are the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, Trackside Teen Center, Wilton Parks and Recreation, and the Wilton Department of Public Works.

The scarecrows made by Wilton residents, businesses, and organizations for the 2017 Scarecrow Fest will be installed on lampposts in Wilton Center on Friday, Oct. 20. Download the “Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt” form (available on the town website), and then start looking for items on select scarecrows around Wilton Center and record any found items on the form.

Completed forms can be dropped in the designated box at Lang’s Pharmacy (28 Center St.) or Wilton True Value Hardware (21 River Rd.) by 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23. A prize drawing will be held at that Monday evening’s (Oct. 23) Board of Selectmen’s meeting. The first three forms pulled from the box will win Wilton Chamber of Commerce gift certificates. Winners will be notified by email or phone. Participants/winners do not need to be present at the drawing.
