‘Tis the season for family portraits, and two Wilton businesses are collaborating on a special offer.

Fraiche Hair Salon and Peggy Garbus Photography have created a promotion for photo-sessions-plus-hair-and-makeup, to take place this Thursday, Dec. 5. Schedule a blowout and professional makeup session for one person at Fraiche Hair at 436 Danbury Rd., to be followed by a half-hour photo session at Peggy Garbus’ photo studio just up Rt. 7 at 487 Danbury Rd..

The two businesses collaborated on the idea with the intent that it could be an ideal opportunity for just about anyone who was interested in getting pictures taken, either for personal or professional reasons. “It can be a glamour pic or professional headshot, solo or the whole family, just the kids, a couple, any way you like,” said Lynn Flaster, owner of Fraiche Hair.

Photographer Peggy Garbus saw this as an opportunity for people who are busy during the holidays and can basically check off several to-do items all at the same time.

“Our clients can take advantage of this rare introductory opportunity to get to know us a little better at a time when they may need to look their best. Clients can take advantage of all that Fraiche Hair has to offer besides a blow-out; it’s a chance to try the salon before the party season officially begins. In terms of photography, it’s an opportunity to capture family or children for the season if you haven’t already done so. We’re introducing our studio line of photography, an addition to our signature on-location work–it’s another way for our clients to share the love of family for themselves or as a gift,” Garbus said.

Flaster agreed, adding that the mix of services was a unique way to provide one-stop options when it really counts. “How often are we really pleased with the way we look in photos? The holidays are a perfect time to give a photograph as a gift, so we are making this a no-brainer by offering professional makeup and hair services. We want people to be thrilled with how they look in photos.”

The collaboration between local businesses was something both women felt suited them and was a great way to create strong connections, both with clients as well as with one another. “Besides having a lot more fun,  I love collaborating with a local business to expand and connect within the community. With the addition of studio photography to our brand, it’s always a bonus for the client to look his or her best with fresh make-up and styled hair. We feel that Fraiche Hair is the perfect partner for us,” Garbus explained.

Flaster said she saw benefits for her brand as well. “We are seeing a rise in women-owned businesses in our area, and it is exciting to be able to partner with such a dynamic and artistic professional such as Peggy. I feel as though we are complementing each other’s strengths and offering local families an incredible opportunity with this ‘marriage.’”

Appointments are being scheduled all day throughout the event, which runs from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.. The package of hair, makeup and photo session is priced at $199. Garbus said that photos will be available for viewing within a week and are priced separately, with print prices starting at $79.
