Salsa and merengue your way over to Comstock Community Center on Monday, Sept 12 for a free Zumba class. The event is open to adults and, says instructor Valerie Kirincich, no experience at all is necessary.

“It’s great for anyone who loves to dance and loves music. Zumba is known as “exercise in disguise,” and combines simple routines based on the four basic Zumba moves:  merengue, salsa, reggaeton and cumbia. It’s a fun dance workout that you can modify to your own fitness and experience level. Once you learn the moves then you’ll really start to step it up,” she says.

Kirincich is certified to teach Zumba to adults and kids. She started teaching Zumba classes at Comstock in the spring.

The Comstock session officially starts Monday, Sept 19 and runs until Dec 19. The price for 11 classes is $110 and $50 for a 5-class card. See the Parks & Recreation online brochure  for more details. Interested participants are welcome to check out the class on Sept. 12 at no cost. It will meet in the Comstock Center dance room, 9-10 a.m..

This fall, Kirincich is also offering an after school class at Middlebrook on Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 21, through Wilton Continuing Ed. Find more details about this class on the Continuing Education website.
