We’re all about spreading the GOOD in Wilton, and GOOD Morning Wilton‘s “FUNdrai$er Friday$” publicizes efforts that benefit worthy community causes. Every Friday, check out the featured opportunities to pitch in, lend a hand, donate and help other Wilton residents give back to the community.

We welcome submissions from individuals, organizations and charity efforts raising money, seeking donations and recruiting volunteers. Send all pertinent information to us via email–the who, what, when, where, how and why. Include any photos, links or even videos that might help tell the story and increase the response from our readers. Don’t forget to make sure your contact information is there as well. (Sorry, we can only accept FUNdrai$er Friday$ ideas via email. Please put “Fundraiser Fridays” in the email subject line.)

Painted Cookies with Santa Benefits CT Hospice

Wilton’s favorite “cookie lady” Susan Schmitt is hosting her 3rd Annual Fundraiser with Santa at the Painted Cookie Shop this Sunday, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to benefit CT Hospice.

Santa will be on hand for visits with kids, and each child gets a chance to talk with him while parents or Santa’s elves take pictures. Then each child is invited to color-a-cookie to bring home and leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve. The suggested donation is $25, and the event is drop-in, so no reservations necessary.

“I do this to honor [my husband] Matt‘s brother, Michael Schmitt, who we lost three years ago to pancreatic cancer. Michael was Wilton High School Class of 1973, and Bill Dexter, our Santa, was at WHS at the same time,” Schmitt says.

The Painted Cookie is located at 196 Danbury Rd./Rte. 7.
