The following article was produced from the text of a Gofundme appeal, with the permission of the beneficiary family.
On Friday, April 30, Wilton resident Eric Ballentine suffered a devastating accident at his home when he fell down his attic stairs. As a result of the fall, Eric suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. He has been hospitalized since the accident.
Friends of the Ballentine family have organized a Gofundme campaign to help support the family’s upcoming medical costs and Eric’s expected long path of hopeful rehabilitation. Given that Eric is expected to be out of work for the foreseeable future, donations will also help support living expenses as well as any changes that need to be made for Eric to return home.
According to the Gofundme site, friends of the family say that, ‘All [who] know Eric and Danielle know that they would be first in line to help out a friend, acquaintance or stranger in need.’ Please consider contributing to this effort to support a fellow Wilton resident in his time of need.
