There is a quote that says “A Flower is a Smile from Heaven,” so what better way to spend a gloomy winter day than to create lovely flower bouquets? Some Wilton seniors did just earlier this month at the Garden Therapy session hosted by the Wilton Garden Club at Wilton’s Comstock Senior Center. After enjoying a delicious homemade lunch prepared and served by Garden Club members Mya Smith, Julie Sweeney, Debbie Burns, Diana Pettit, Pauline Prevett, and Bobbi Kahan, the seniors created lush bouquets which brought huge smiles to their faces.
All Wilton seniors are invited to attend the Garden Therapy sessions sponsored by the Wilton Garden Club and Wilton Social Services Department. They are held at the Comstock Community Center, 180 School Rd., on the first Tuesday of the month, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.. Lunch is served, and then participants complete a creative gardening project. Upcoming dates are March 6, April 3, and May 1. Further information is available on the Garden Club website or from Lizabeth Doty, Comstock Community Center’s senior activities coordinator at 203.834.6240.
