Nurture your children’s creative spirits at the Gilbert & Bennett Cultural Center in Georgetown. The center has created several new after-school programs, including classes in movement, sculpture, Shakespeare for Kids, art, and Culture Club for children ages 6-12.
Classes will be held Monday-Friday, 4-5 p.m. (times vary depending on class), and the upcoming 8-week session begins Monday, Feb. 6. All classes are held at the G&B Cultural Center at 49 New St..

Shakespeare Odyssey
Grades 4-6 only

When children meet Shakespeare, magic happens! In this workshop, children encounter tales of mistaken identity, sibling rivalry, and hilarious duels and will have the opportunity to watch, learn about, and reenact the scenes themselves.

In a safe, non-judgmental environment children will enjoy expressive movement and exercise which incorporates balance, spatial relations, and physical self-control.
Sculpture for Beginners

Using a variety of found objects, children will explore methods used to create free-form, 3-D works of art.
Culture Club

Culture Club is a unique program for children which offers an introduction to the classic arts. Kids will learn about dancing stories (ballet), singing stories (opera) and gain exposure to classical music in this interactive program which brings the arts to life.

Drawing, painting, crafts…each Friday we will nurture students’ emerging creativity as we encourage exploration and play in various mediums.
Drop-ins are welcome Tuesday-Friday, at $25 per day. Snow days will be made up as necessary. There are no refunds for missed classes.
