The very first Wilton Food Truck Festival is set to roll on Sunday, Aug. 12 and organizers are anticipating a big turnout. The event will be held at Allen’s Meadow from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and promises to be a culinary carnival, complete with 21 different kitchens on wheels plus vendors, music and family fun.

“We have every kind of food you can imagine,” says Mark Ketley, who has organized the event. Ketley is the executive director of Trackside Teen Center, and proceeds from the Festival entry fee will benefit Trackside. “Middle Eastern food, Mediterranean, Italian, pierogis,  we have something for everyone. Barbecue, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, the Melt Mobile, two different ice cream trucks, we have a beer and wine truck coming. So it will be a lot on the food side.”

Plus, he adds there will be vendors and crafts as well, so festival-goers will have a lot to do and see in between sampling delicious fare.

Also on-hand will be various live musical acts, and a children’s park with inflatables, an obstacle course and a waterslide. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and chairs to sit out and enjoy the entertainment.

The entry fee is $10 per car, or $5 per walk-in. Allen’s Meadow is located at 423 Danbury Rd./Rte. 7.
