Shop local and support the Farm! After picking up your holiday greens at Ambler Farm, be sure to check out Ambler Farm-branded ski hats, for only $15. This item and more are available for purchase at the Greens Sale on Saturdays, Dec. 1 and 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and again on Sundays, Dec. 2 and 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Blue Star Bazaar

Each year, Blue Star Bazaar offers a unique, handmade Wilton ornament.  This year’s ornament is a ceramic house imprinted with a welcoming wreath.  At $15, these ornaments are great for teachers, newcomers, hostess gifts, or anyone else with ties to Wilton.

Wilton Historical Society

Like a soap and washcloth all in one, Fiat Luxe Felted Soap is wrapped in colorful wool felt for a lovely marbled look and gentle exfoliating feel. It is handmade in California using only natural ingredients and scented with botanically derived essential oils for a lovely aroma. The soft wool felt is domestically sourced and has naturally occurring anti-fungal properties. The felt shrinks along with the soap as you use it and will retain its freshness as long as you give it a quick squeeze to remove excess water. Once the soap inside is gone, you can make a small slit in the felt and re-stuff it with odds and ends from other bars. How cool is that?

Wilton Library

Wilton Library’s Giving Tree is an annual tradition that stands bright in the gallery each year at this time. The tree is a Wish List of items/materials/programs that the library would like to bring into the collection or provide to the community.  Patrons simply pick the item on the special “ornament,” bring it to the circulation desk and pay for it. The item can be purchased in honor or in memory of someone, or to commemorate a special occasion.  A lovely gift card is given to the purchaser, who in turn can give it to the person or family being honored. Where possible, a bookplate will be placed on the selected item to highlight the honoree. The item chosen for each category is a representation of what is currently on the tree. Items may go quickly but there are many choices in each category if the first request is not available.

In addition to the Giving Tree, shoppers may wish to take the opportunity to purchase Giving Gelt, thereby giving a donation to the library for an item that will be purchased for the Children’s Library. Acknowledgements of the donations will be handled in the same fashion as the Giving Tree.

Items under $20 are represented by a $15 DVD – The Real Story: Saving Private Ryan, which will be purchased for the Wilton Library’s DVD collection with a Giving Tree donation.

Shoppers are also reminded of Wilton Library’s Holiday Book Sale, during which bargains in all price ranges can be found on a daily basis. The Giving Tree, Giving Gelt and Holiday Book Sale run through Jan. 2, 2019.
