GOOD Community Member: Amanda Mitchell Named April’s ‘Community Champion’ by Wilton Coalition for Youth

Amanda Mitchell has been named the Wilton Coalition for Youth’s April 2026 Community Champion. As part of the #WiltonIsWhereYouBelong campaign, the Coalition spotlights one individual each month for their positive influence, work or commitment to the Wilton community.

Mitchell brings both warmth and a “get-it-done” spirit to everything she does, focused on strengthening the community through connection and education. Her work spans the Wilton League of Women Voters (LWV), Wilton Historical Society, and Wilton Girl Scouts.

Recognized for her dedication to Girl Scouts, she leads both a 9th-grade senior troop and a 2nd/3rd-grade Brownie troop, while also supporting broader efforts like World Thinking Day and mentoring across all troops. “Wilton Girl Scouts would not be the strong organization it is without Amanda’s dedication and inspiration,” a nominator noted.

Mitchell helped launch a LWV high school intern program focused on civic engagement, with students contributing to GOOD Morning Wilton and statewide initiatives. She has also supported key fundraising and committee work at the Wilton Historical Society.

From troop meetings to the ballot box, Mitchell proves that one person’s quiet commitment can spark positive change.

Wilton Coalition for Youth is a collection of Wilton organizations, town departments and individuals who serve youth and families in Wilton. Spearheaded by the Wilton Youth Council, Coalition members coordinate efforts to prevent substance misuse and promote the mental health and emotional well-being of youth and families.

Nominate a Community Champion online; Coalition members select one Community Champion each month to be announced in GOOD Morning Wilton.
