GOOD To Shop for Bargains: Wilton Library’s Summer Sidewalk Book Sale

Wilton Library holds its popular Summer Sidewalk Book Sale on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., during the Wilton Street Fair and Sidewalk Sale.
The sale offers gently-used books great for beach and summer vacation reading, children’s and teen books, cookbooks, gardening, art and photography, paperbacks and so much more.
Shoppers will also find an assortment of CDs and DVDs, many of them brand new; vinyl; lots of puzzles; plus a huge Tag Sale. There are bargains galore and something for everyone, from babies to adults.
The book sale moves inside to the library’s Gallery from Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 31, during library operating hours. Proceeds benefit the library.
GOOD To Protect and Serve: Wilton Police Swear In New Officer

The Wilton Police Department welcomed its newest officer Tuesday, July 7, swearing in Julian Arboleda during a ceremony at Police Headquarters. Town Clerk Lori Kaback administered the oath of office, with First Selectman Toni Boucher, Police Commissioners Chris Giovino and Thomas Sinchak, Chief Tom Conlan, Arboleda’s family members and fellow officers in attendance.
Arboleda, who grew up in Greenwich, joins the department after serving for two years with the UConn Police Department. He previously worked in security at Greenwich Hospital and is a graduate of Norwalk Community College with an associate degree in criminal justice. He is also fluent in Spanish.
