GOOD To Celebrate: Fourth Annual Wilton Pride Festival Returns May 31

The fourth annual Wilton Pride Festival will be held on Sunday, May 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Wilton Town Center. The festival is co-sponsored by Wilton Pride and Wilton Library. The rain date is Sunday, June 7.
This year’s festival will feature an array of interactive activities, including music, live mural painting, performing arts, an artisan market, exhibits, a scavenger hunt, food, drinks, and much more.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and demonstrate that Wilton is Where You Belong,” Wilton Library Executive Director Caroline Mandler said. “We look forward to seeing everyone in Wilton Center on May 31st!”
“Four years in, this festival keeps growing because this community keeps showing up for each other, for our youth, and for the values we share. The Wilton Pride Festival is more than a celebration; it’s a living reminder that belonging isn’t just a slogan, it’s something we build together. ” Wilton Pride Board Member Heidi Tsapelas said.
Once again, Marché Artisan Market, founded by Wilton residents Katie Nelson and Kerry Ray, will offer a curated “Pride Market” that will feature an array of handcrafted goods, including art prints and paper, bath and beauty products, candles, clothing, fiber arts, jewelry, pottery and specialty items.
Also at the festival, artist Erwin Ong will lead an interactive community mural art project with festival attendees themed on love, respect, freedom, equality, hope, joy and belonging.

GOOD To Ride: Teen E-Bike Safety Courses Coming to Wilton Library

With e-bikes and e-scooters becoming increasingly popular among local teens, Wilton Library is hosting two hands-on safety courses this summer for students in grades 6-12.
Led by Kate Haavik, founder and CEO of bike safety training company Ride On!, the 90-minute sessions will combine discussion about rules of the road with an outdoor obstacle course designed to help teens safely navigate bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters.
Courses will take place Sunday, June 28 and Sunday, July 12 at 10 a.m. in the Wilton Library parking lot. Helmets are required, only non-motorized traditional bikes are allowed, and registration (on the library website for June 28 and July 12) is mandatory due to limited space.
Participants will meet on the sidewalk near the “Wilton is Where You Belong” crosswalk.
