GOOD To Howl About: Wilton Library Hosts “Coexisting with Coyotes” Program
Join Wilton Library on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. for a Zoom presentation from Wolf Conservation Center Program Coordinator and Wildlife Educator Dana Goin on “Coexisting with Coyotes.”
Few species in North America are as misunderstood and maligned as the coyote, even as many admire them as a symbol of resilience, a North American mascot and vital part of nature. Goin will speak about eastern coyotes, their history and ecology, and what people can do to best coexist with them.
Online registration is required to receive the Zoom link, and closes on Sept. 29.
GOOD To Trick-or-Trade: Wilton Go Green Hosts Halloween Costume Exchange
Wilton Go Green is hosting a Halloween Costume Exchange that allows residents to donate Halloween costumes they may have outgrown, and then find free costumes, all in the spirit of reducing, reusing and recycling along with holiday fun.
Residents are invited to donate clean, complete Halloween costumes for anyone ages baby-100 on the following dates:
- Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Cannondale Train Station
- Wednesday, Oct. 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Wilton Farmers’ Market
- Thursday, Oct. 8, 4-6 p.m. at Cannondale Train Station
- Wednesday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Wilton Farmers’ Market
Residents are invited to “shop” for free at the Costume Exchange at the Cannon Grange (25 Cannon Rd.):
- Friday, Oct. 16, 4-6 p.m.

GOOD To Make a Splash: Wilton High School Girls Swimming and Diving Starts Off Season Swimmingly
Wilton High School girls swimming and diving team‘s season is underway with a 1-1 start.
They opened 2026 with their first matchup on Friday, Sept. 11, against Trumbull High School, dominating the entire meet by taking first place in 11 out of 11 swimming events, with a final score of 92-67.
- 200 Medley Relay: First place — Maryn Brooks, Maya Kreuzer, Vedha Kongettira and Caroline O’Grady
- 200 IM: Megan Lussier (first), Eveline Andrews (second)
- 50 freestyle: Brooks (first), O’Grady (third)
- 100 butterfly: Kongettira (first), Chloe Hyland (second)
- 100 freestyle: Lussier (first), Eloise Bluman (second)
- 500 freestyle: Brooks (first), Andrews (second), O’Grady (third)
- 200 freestyle relay: Lussier, Kreuzer, Bluman and Sterling Ford (first)
- 100 backstroke: Kongettira (first), Violeta Hurtado (third)
- 400 freestyle relay: Kongettira, Lussier, Brooks and Hurtado (first with a winning time of 3:55.58).
The girls had a close loss on Friday, Sept. 18, against Darien High School, 88-95.
This week, the Warriors swimming and diving team is on the road Friday, Sept. 25, against St. Joe’s at 7 p.m., followed by a home meet on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 3:40 p.m. at the Wilton YMCA against New Canaan and Fairfield Warde High Schools.
GOOD To Take a Hike: Wilton Conservation Commission Hosts Guided Walk at Bradley Park
The Wilton Conservation Commission is hosting a guided walk through Bradley Park on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m., led by Conservation Commissioner Colleen O’Brien. All are welcome, including dogs on leash. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.
The walk will begin at the entrance to Bradley Park on Oak Ledge Ln. Parking is available at the end of Oak Ledge Ln. on the west side. Email Colleen O’Brien with questions.
GOOD To Give: Businesses Can Support Wilton Nonprofits and Earn Tax Credits
Ten Wilton nonprofits have been approved to participate in the Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program, making 11 local projects eligible to receive donations from businesses in exchange for state tax credits. Businesses may receive tax credits equal to 100% of donations for qualifying energy-conservation projects and 60% for eligible community service, education, job training and other programs. Approved programs which businesses can support include:
- A Better Chance of Wilton — operating expenses: $15,000
- Circle of Care — Education Award: $70,000
- Friends of Ambler Farm — Ambler Farm Nutrition Program: $12,700
- Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut — Wilton Commons energy-efficiency upgrades: $150,000
- Friends of Hillside Cemetery and Arboretum — electrical infrastructure initiative: $20,000
- Grumman Hill Montessori Association — window replacement and solar panel improvements: $150,000
- Wilton Athletic and Recreation Foundation — 2026-28 Community Investment Program: $150,000
- Wilton Historical Society — energy-efficient roof and HVAC improvements: $111,010
- Wilton Land Conservation Trust — field operations pickup truck: $24,500
- Wilton Youth Council — Parents Program: $5,000
- Wilton Youth Council — Youth to Youth at Middlebrook and Wilton High schools: $10,000
Altogether, the organizations are seeking up to $718,210. More details about each of the programs are available online.
Businesses interested in sponsoring a program must submit a separate Form NAA-02 electronically through the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services website for each program they wish to support. Applications are due Thursday, Oct. 1. Approval makes the programs eligible for contributions but does not guarantee that they will receive the full amounts requested.
