Ambler Farm Day has become a beloved fall tradition in Wilton, so save the date for this year’s big day on Sunday, Oct. 4, 12-4 p.m. Its success depends on countless volunteers, and organizers say they need more to make it a continued success. They are putting out the call for residents to help make this year sweeter than ever by volunteering for one (or more!) of the following:

Donate a home-made dessert for the Bake Sale:  If you love to bake cookies, cupcakes, candy apples, caramel apples, fresh breads, Rice Krispie treats, or muffins, please consider helping out. The only thing they currently have enough of is brownies but are in need of extra chocolate cupcakes and nut-free and/or gluten-free goodies too.

Items should be individually wrapped (about three cookies or two big brownies to a bag) and ingredients labeled. Cupcakes can be individually boxed (wrapping may mess frosting), or just bring to the farm and organizers can package them. Family-sized treats are also needed.  To donate a pie, email Debbie Corrigan.

Baked goods can be dropped off Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Ambler Farm’s White Barn. They can also be dropped off curbside the day of the event from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Hurlbutt Rd. entrance to the farm.

Help bake Apple Pies at the Bake-a-Thon:  Apple peelers and pie assemblers/bakers are needed for the annual bake-a-thon on Friday, Oct. 2 beginning at 9 a.m. at the White Barn. Stop by for an hour or two. Email Debbie Corrigan for information.

Take a shift to work at the bake stand during Ambler Farm Day:  Volunteers are needed for hour-long shifts.  Please sign up to help run the bake stand by clicking here.

Donate used clothes to the Make-Your-Own-Scarecrow activity:  This popular activity relies on the generosity of donations to make it such a success. Clothing donations can be dropped off at the bins outside the White Carriage Barn at Ambler Farm.

Volunteer at the event:  Volunteers man activity stations, help direct people, and do so many more things to make the event run. Volunteers are still needed, and organizers would be grateful for anyone willing to lend a hand for an hour or two. Email Cathy Ratcliffe for information.

Ambler Farm Day is sponsored by Durants Party Rentals, GOOD Morning Wilton, Moments by Andrea Photography and Ryan Cornell of William Pitt | Sotheby’s International Realty. All proceeds will benefit the continued restoration of the Raymond-Ambler Farmhouse and ongoing educational programs.
