This Sunday, Oct. 23, the Wilton League of Women Voters (LWV) will join with the 11 other Fairfield County Leagues to present a debate between incumbent Democrat Jim Himes and Republican John Shaban, candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives 4th Congressional District. The event, free and open to the public, will be held from 5-6:30 p.m., at the Clune Performing Arts Center at Wilton High School (395 Danbury Rd.).

The Wilton Registrars of Voters will staff a voter registration table with absentee ballot information prior to the event. Greenwich resident Kay Maxwell, a former president of the League of Women Voters of the United States and current executive director of the Stamford-based World Affairs Forum, will moderate the debate. The debate organizer is Jara Burnett of LWV Greenwich. Wilton League members Karen Birck and Mary Kehoe represent Wilton on the planning committee.

Other co-sponsors of this event are Leagues of Women Voters of the Bridgeport Area, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, and Westport. Email the Wilton LWV for further information.
