As the country commemorates the historic 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, the Wilton Historic Society will hold a program on Martin Luther King Day and invites students in grades K-12 to take part in a special program.
The program is part of Scholastic’s “Student Art Contest” which challenges children to creatively and artistically interpret what engaging in service means to them, in homage to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s question, “What are you doing for others?” Participants can submit a poster interpreting MLK’s question to the world.
“We will be providing all art supplies as well as the necessary paperwork to submit to the contest in which there is a chance to win a Samsung tablet and for artwork to be displayed at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bookstore,” explained the Historical Society’s Katherine Demo.
In addition, the Historical Society’s train show will be coming to a close that day, so it’s the final opportunity to check out the special exhibit.
