Four years ago Horseshoe Pond, Wilton’s gateway pond, was covered with lilies. Today, thanks to a few dedicated people, the Friends of Horseshoe Pond has begun the clean-up and Horseshoe Pond is sparkling!

However, to keep it sparkling, we must raise the funds to pay for the treatments that will keep it looking this way. Jeff Stahl, of the Pond Connection, is in charge of the three-year process that began three summers ago. However, to quote Jeff, “Most likely, the Pond will need at least one chemical treatment per season with a possible follow up treatment.”

Marley’s Bar and Bistro will be the site for a “Guest Bartender Evening” for Horseshoe Pond, next Monday night, Nov. 14, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.. All bar tips will go to the Pond fund.

There will also be a raffle for a Peggy Garbus family photograph to be taken at Horseshoe Pond, and tickets will be sold at Marley’s Nov. 14 or you may call Anne Deware at 203.762.8256 for tickets. Peggy is a well known photographer in Wilton and the surrounding area.

Please come join our group at Marly’s Bar (101 Old Ridgefield Rd.) on Nov. 14 for a drink with us and buy a raffle ticket for a lovely photograph.
