Wilton Library and the Wilton Youth Council are running a program to help families deal with the pressure of college search and application. On Tuesday, April 18, they’ll hold “College Frenzy:  How to Manage Yourself and Your Family Through the Process,” from 12:30-2:30 p.m..

The pressure associated with the college process, a.k.a. THE BIG EVENT, often creates a lot of negative fallout, such as ruptured relationships and high levels of stress and anxiety in students and their families. In this presentation, parent coach and clinical psychologist Susan Bauerfeld, PhD and college consultant Victoria Hirsch will offer tips, strategies and suggestions for viewing the college process as a natural next step rather than THE BIG EVENT and for managing the process in ways that foster connection and resilience rather than discord and despair.

The program is appropriate for parents of 8th-12th graders. Registration is strongly encouraged. To register, visit the Wilton Library website or call 203.762.6334.
