The Wilton Education Foundation, with the generous support of Village Market, held the 22nd Annual Community Read Aloud Day last Thursday, April 26 at Miller-Driscoll School. Dozens of community leaders celebrated a love of reading with Wilton’s littlest learners, joining them in the classroom in a show of support for literacy.
Readers were represented by members of Wilton’s business community, town government, volunteer organizations and the community at large. They read age-appropriate books chosen by the school’s media specialists and then engage the students in discussion of the book, as well as about the reader’s role in the Wilton community. Thanks to the generosity and support of Village Market, the book is then donated to the classroom.
