A Massachusetts man has been extradited to Connecticut to face charges in connection with two alleged thefts from a Wilton business that occurred in late 2024 and early 2025.
George Bimbo, 37, of Woburn, MA, was taken into custody Tuesday, July 14, after Wilton detectives traveled to the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction in Massachusetts to execute an extraditable arrest warrant.
A press release from Wilton Police Information Officer Lt. Anna Tornello said that Bimbo has been charged with two counts of third-degree larceny and two counts of third-degree criminal trespass.
According to the Wilton Police Department, officers responded to John Findorak & Sons Inc. on Danbury Rd. on Jan. 16, 2025, after the business reported equipment valued at approximately $3,000 missing from the property. Investigators reviewed Ring camera footage showing a maroon minivan occupied by two individuals entering the rear lot while the business was closed.
Police said the business had reported a similar theft less than a month earlier, on Dec. 23, 2024, involving approximately $6,000 worth of scrap metal and copper wire.
The investigation later led detectives back to the business on Aug. 7, 2025, when officers responded to a report of two men trespassing on the property after hours. Police identified one of the men as Bimbo and determined the pair had arrived in a maroon van that investigators said matched the vehicle captured on surveillance video during the earlier incidents.
According to police, responding officers seized Bimbo’s cell phone and investigators obtained a search warrant to examine the device. Data from the phone allegedly placed him in the area during the December 2024 and January 2025 incidents. Detectives also identified Bimbo as one of the individuals seen on surveillance footage from the January incident.
An arrest warrant was issued in Stamford Superior Court in November 2025. Police said efforts to locate Bimbo were unsuccessful “due to jurisdictional limitations,” until he was stopped by police in Wilmington, MA, and held on a fugitive from justice warrant. After waiving extradition, he was returned to Connecticut to face the Wilton charges.
Police said Bimbo was unable to post his $75,000 court-set bond and was transported to Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday, July 15, when he was scheduled to be arraigned.
Wilton Police credited the Wilmington Police Department, the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office with assisting in locating and detaining Bimbo and facilitating his return to Connecticut.
“The Wilton Police Department further commends the involved officers and detectives, whose teamwork, diligence and investigative efforts led to the identification of the suspect and his vehicle,” Tornello wrote.
Police said the arrest concludes the investigation into the two reported thefts.
