On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 10 finalists from Middlebrook School’s nine academic teams competed in the Middlebrook National Geographic School GeoBee. Kieran Lenihan, from the 7-Red team, emerged victorious in the final competition that continued for nine challenging rounds.
The National Geographic GeoBee is an annual competition open to students in grades four through eight nation-wide. School champions from around Connecticut will compete for the opportunity to participate in the 2020 National Geographic Bee held in Washington, D.C. in May.
Middlebrook’s other finalists were Harrison Stein, Michael Butler, Nick Somma, Cole Galante, Jaxon Thomas, Robbie Eskenazi, Piper Dean, Xander Hunt, and Anderson Campbell.
Lenihan now goes on to compete for the state championship at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) on March 27.
