The Planning & Zoning Commission meeting originally scheduled for the evening of Monday, Sept. 10, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at instead. It will be held in the meeting room of the Town Annex at Town Hall (238 Danbury Rd.).

According to the agenda for the meeting, available on the town website, the commission is scheduled to discuss several items dealing with the proposed Wilton Heights development being eyed for the parcels at or near 300 Danbury Rd., where Rte. 7 intersects with Ridgefield Rd./Rte. 33.

There are two applications currently in front of P&Z for Wilton Heights, and they are both listed under the public hearing portion of the meeting agenda.

The first is an application filed by the project’s developer, Wilton Heights LLC, for a zoning change from R1-A to Wilton Center District for multiple abutting parcels on Whitewood Ln.; the public hearing on that application opened June 25 and must close by Tuesday evening’s meeting unless the applicant consents to an extension.

The second application was filed by the property’s current owners, JFM Properties II, LLC and MWD I, LLC, to change the text of current town regulation regarding Area and Bulk requirements for the Wilton Center District; the public hearing on this application also must close Tuesday unless the applicants allow it to continue longer.

If the public hearings do close Tuesday evening, the commissioners can begin discussion of the applications.

The third application–for a special permit to allow mixed use retail stores on the ground floor and residential units on higher floors–is scheduled to be accepted by the commission Tuesday evening and placed on the agenda for an upcoming meeting, when a public hearing will be opened and public comment can begin. That must be scheduled to begin before Nov. 13, 2018. This application had been previously submitted over the summer, but was withdrawn to accommodate summer schedules.
