The new owners of Wilton’s Silver Hanger Cleaners have a message for the store’s many loyal customers:  Never fear! Your dry cleaning is still in great hands.

Last month, John and Annie Moon purchased the business from its dedicated owners of 23 years, the Lee family. The Moons and Lees are friends, so when Mr. and Mrs. Lee decided to retire they knew their business would be in good hands with John and Annie.

John Moon has been in the dry cleaning business for 30 years. For 15 of them he and his wife, Annie, ran Royal Cleaners in Fairfield where they had a loyal following as well. They sold it a few years ago and have been eager to return to running a store.

“Just like the Lees, we are a family-run business,” Annie says. “And we take care of our customers just like they are our own family.”

Annie and John were happy to take over Silver Hanger Cleaners because it’s so similar to the Royal Cleaners they ran in Fairfield. It offers on-site tailoring (which Annie does herself, just as Mrs. Lee did) and an organic dry cleaning machine.

“We’re very glad to offer organic dry cleaning,” Annie notes. “It’s better for fabric and garments and for the environment.”

The Moons hope Silver Hanger’s long time customers will remain loyal to the business. They’ve kept pricing the same but will extend their weekday closing time by one hour to 7 p.m..  Beginning Monday, June 25, their hours will be 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.

Silver Hanger Cleaners is located at 35 Danbury Road, in the Dunkin Donuts Plaza. Phone: 203-762-9790.

The Moons are looking forward to meeting more Wilton customers. They are extending a special offer of 10%-off the next dry cleaning order-for a limited time-to any customer who shows this GMW story (either online or a copy) at their register. (Offer is good through Dec. 31, 2018.)
