What are all the ‘Detour’ signs on Rte. 7?
Have you noticed all the still-covered ‘Detour’ signs that have sprung up along Rte. 7/Danbury Rd.? We asked Lt. Stephen Brennan, the public information officer for the Wilton Police Department if he could check into it for us.
Evidently, the detour is linked to coming construction on Rte. 57/Georgetown Rd.. The state will be replacing a bridge on Rte. 57 in Weston. Brennan said that the project will begin on July 1, and is expected to be completed in 2 months.
Camp Looper Still Has Openings for Summer
Camp Looper, the summer day camp operated by the Wilton Parks & Recreation Department, still has some open spots available in their program. The camp offers field trips, inflatables, everyday swims at Merwin Meadows and more. A flyer for the camp boasts, “Your kids will come home tired and full of great memories.”
Due to ongoing construction at Comstock Community Center, where the camp has been located in previous years, camp director Jim Lewicki has now moved the camp to Cider Mill Middle School.
For more information or to sign up visit the Parks & Rec website or stop by the Parks & Rec Department, which is still operating out of Comstock (180 School Rd.).
