Kiwanis Food Drive Refills Wilton Food Pantry

Following a one-month, construction-related closure, the Wilton Food Pantry at Comstock Community Center stood almost completely empty on the morning of Friday, June 2. Then, during the day foodstuffs started arriving from the Wilton Kiwanis food drive held at both the Village Market and Stop and Shop.

The food kept arriving through the day Friday, and continued through the weekend as the Kiwanis members staffed the food drive on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 as well. According to Kiwanis spokesman Bud Taylor, the pantry is now full and ready to start disbursing food, paper goods and personal care items to Wilton families supported by Wilton Social Services.

“The Kiwanis and the Food Pantry want to thank the wonderful people of Wilton, it is through your repeated generosity that we have been able to keep the bank open all these years and are able to help the many families in need of our help. It is truly wonderful to live in a community that cares about their fellow citizens,” Taylor said.
