The New York Jets have chosen Wilton High School football coach Bruce Cunningham as a recipient of the New York Jets High School Coach of the Week award, presented by Chase.
As part of the award, Wilton High School Football will receive $2,000. Cunningham will be presented with a signed certificate from the Jets’ general manager Mike Maccagnan and head coach Todd Bowles, as well as a personalized game ball. In addition, he is invited to watch the New York Jets play the Buffalo Bills on January 1, 2017 in Chase’s suite at MetLife Stadium.
The award follows last Saturday’s exciting Homecoming game victory over Stamford, 18-0.
“I am honored and truly humbled by this recognition. My greatest thanks goes to the players for all their hard work and dedication. I thank the assistant coaches for their time and effort. Finally, I thank the parents and community members for supporting the program,” Cunningham told GMW.
According to the New York Jets’ website, the Coach of the Week award “is given weekly to a coach in the tri-state area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to his community, his school and his student-athletes.”
