Former Wilton resident Larry Flick left this world peacefully on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 10, after a very full life filled with love, family and friendship.
Larry was born in Hawaii in 1944 and attributed his peacefulness and patience to his island roots. Raised in Berkeley, CA with his sisters Sandy and Kathy, Larry began a life of activity as a teenager by breaking the national record in backstroke. He was a lifelong athlete who also enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf.
Larry had a constant curiosity to learn and to teach, graduating from Oregon State University, and then receiving his master’s degree from Cal State. Larry worked at Bechtel, owned and operated The Linen Shop in New Canaan, and finally was a college professor.
Larry’s legacy lives on through his wife of 50 years Margaret; children Kate and Andy; grandchildren Molly, Jack, Caroline and Drew; daughter-in-law Hillary and son-in-law Scott — all with whom he spent countless hours supporting their interests, skills and passions.
The family is celebrating Larry privately with no memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
