Want to get back in the dating pool but have no idea how to navigate online dating? Heard a lot about Cannabidiol but don’t know if it’s safe–or legal? Thinking about hiring a private investigator?

Believe it or not, Wilton Continuing Education has courses on all of these topics–and many more. The catalog for the upcoming Winter/Spring 2019 session is arriving in residents’ mailboxes now, and enrollment for the session is currently open online and by mail-in registration.

There are several new course offerings, many of which are in the technology category. They also cover a wide variety of interests, from making online love connections to flying drones to social media navigation. Some of the new courses include:

Cooking and food are also always favorite subjects, with Beyond Beef Burgers and Soup’s On as two new offerings. Award-winning Wilton chef Antonio Perillo of Aranci 67 is one of the star instructors with two sessions of his Hands-On Dinner class and a new class, Hands-On Desserts. Have a craving for something light? Master preserver Pam Lillis will show you how with When Life Gives You Lemons: Preserved Lemons & Lemon Shrub.

Continuing Education even has a class on something some people may think is edgy–Cannabidiol, an extract derived from Hemp or marijuana. This CBD Workshop will cover what is fact and what is fiction, and the class will answer students’ questions about this ingredient now commonly found in many natural products on the market for humans and pets. This class will cover the health claims associated with it, including pain and anxiety relief and sleeplessness treatment; whether its addictive or psychoactive; how does it work; what side effects are there; and can it get users high?

Of course, January wouldn’t be a time to kick off continuing education classes without some Wellness and Health courses. Need help with your New Year’s resolutions for your health? WCE offers a Wellness Sampler course to help students find the health regimen that fits best.

Want to learn how to do voiceover work? Take Introduction to Voiceovers. Have you ever thought you could use a Private Investigator? Find out what they can and can’t do with Five Things You Need to Know Before Hiring a PI.

There are dozens more, for anyone who wants to get published, play bridge, redecorate, fly drones, take digital photos, make paper flowers, learn beekeeping, speak Italian and so much more.

Continuing Education officials say classes fill up fast and suggest people register early. Visit the Wilton Continuing Education website for more information. Some senior discounts may be available.
