Do you know the latest BUZZ at Miller-Driscoll school? This Friday, April 28 is the second annual “Bee Kind” Day and photo contest. All of the children at MD, from pre-school through 2nd grade–and their teachers–are encouraged to dress like bees, and to think about ways to “Bee Kind” and include others, especially those with disabilities.

The event is part of Disability Awareness Month in Wilton Schools, sponsored by the Parent Advisory Board (PAB).

As part of the day-long event, the PAB is sponsoring the photo contest drawing in conjunction with GOOD Morning Wilton. Parents who are willing to share a picture of their own little bee(s) can be eligible, with four, randomly-selected winners getting a $25.00 gift card to the Toy Chest, as well as a plush bees and beeswax crayons.

To enter, please e-mail a photo of your Miller-Driscoll child dressed like a bee, along with your child’s name, grade and the name of his or her classroom teacher by 6 p.m. on Friday, April 28. There is no cost to enter.

Winners will be announced on Monday, May 1 in GMW and their pictures will appear the same day. Gift cards and plush bees will be delivered to the winning Miller-Driscoll students later in the week.

The contest is part of Disabilities Awareness Month at Wilton Public Schools and has been sponsored by the Wilton Parent Advisory Board for Special Services and 504s (PAB) and supported by GMW. To learn more about the PAB’s mission and work, visit their website.

Note: Submitting a photo of your child with his or her name gives GMW permission to publish the picture.  Entries that do NOT include the name of the child and his or her classroom teacher will be excluded from the drawing.
