The Wilton Warrior High School Marching Band is arguably one of the best in the state, if not the country. The Wilton Warrior Music Boosters run two fundraisers to help defray the cost of the annual Spring Adjudication Trip for the high school bands, orchestra and chorus. During the trip the students’ performances are judged by trained musicians; it’s an exciting, culminating event for the band, orchestra and chorus students and their teachers.
The first fundraiser is the traditional “Grandma Miller Pie Sale.” A variety of homemade pies (apple, pumpkin, cherry, pecan, blueberry and others), quick breads (banana, lemon-blueberry and others), lemon pound cake, chicken pot pie and other items are available for pre-order and purchase. Orders are due by Monday, Oct. 28 but they can also be placed this weekend at the Homecoming festivities, where the boosters will have a table (with samples available to taste!). Pies will be ready for pickup just in time for Thanksgiving celebrations, Saturday, Nov. 23 (time TBD) at the high school.
The music boosters also run a “Greenery Sales Fundraisers, offering holiday greens for sale to support the trip. They’re offering garland roping, wreaths (decorated, undecorated, traditional, fancy), kissing balls and other items. All greenery orders and full payment are due by Friday, Nov. 15 and will be available for pick up on Saturday, Dec. 7 (time TBD) at the high school as well.
Order forms can be downloaded on the booster website, or found at the Music Booster table at Homecoming. For additional help contact Amy Gepes-Wiener at amymgepes@aol.com, or Liz Suchy at 203.762.8162.
And come see the students perform at Homecoming this Saturday, Sept. 28.
