Wilton Police are investigating multiple spots of graffiti that turned up around Wilton Center after last weekend. They’re asking for the community’s help in identifying who may be responsible.

The black spray-painted tags appeared on River Rd. close to Schenck’s Island, with one marking found on a utility box on Danbury Rd. near the construction site at 241 Danbury Rd.. Most of the marks appear to be an A in a circle, a symbol frequently associated with the anarchy movement. There were also some words spray painted on a garbage can and sign, including ‘Die’ and ‘Burn.’

The graffiti was spotted by a GOOD Morning Wilton reader, who sent us photos of two of the images and said that she had seen the markings while walking her dog in Wilton Center on Monday, June 19. She walks there frequently and reported that the graffiti wasn’t there the previous Friday.

GMW inquired with Wilton Police who said they hadn’t had any reports of the graffiti until we notified them. They have since assigned an officer to investigate and ask that anyone with information contact the department at 203.834.6260.

UPDATE, 11:00 a.m.:  Anyone that has information related to this crime can contact investigating Officer Eric Patenaude at 203.834.6260.  Anonymous tips can be left on the Wilton Police Department Tips Line,  203.563.0256 or e-mail.
