Trackside Teen Center will be holding its fall fundraising event, Oktoberfest2017 on Saturday, Oct. 14 starting at 7 p.m.. The always-fun evening serves up authentic German foods and, of course, Beer (and wine and spirits), all for a great cause. This year, Trackside has placed extra importance on fundraising because the organization’s budget was reduced by the town in an effort to move the Teen Center to become self-sustaining.
In addition to valued programming Trackside provides for teens and tweens in Wilton, it also donates space for the CERT member celebration, the annual police awards, the firefighters’ children’s Christmas party, Minks to Sinks, Relay for Life and many more.
This year’s event will be catered by The Proper Palate, featuring an array of German foods, incuding reuben pinwheels, bratwurst wrapped in bacon, German mustard, bbq chicken bites, and bourbon-whiskey meatballs.
German beer will be served at this 21-and-older event, along with other beer, donated by 212 Brewing Company and Lagunitas. Wine and spirits will also be available.
For entertainment, musicians Mike Jones and Will Comer will warmup the crowd, playing German favorites before Dylan Connor and the Epic Poets take the stage as the featured band. There will also be a silent auction and raffle to raise funds for the center.
“We are excited about this year’s Oktoberfest,” says Mark Ketley, Trackside’s executive director. “We have great food lined up and are fortunate to have Dylan Connor returning to perform once again. We want to continue to be able to do what we do here and provide the services we do, and Oktoberfest is one way to do it.”
Tickets are $55 apiece and can be purchased on the Trackside website, or by calling 203.834.2888.
