No, GOOD Morning Wilton has not turned into a gossip site, that’s not the kind of good dirt we’re talking about.

We are talking about the best kind of dirt, or probably more accurately, the best kind of sand, mixed in with a little bit of salt and dirt. There’s a big pile of it at town hall…

And before you make any kind of jokes about dirty politicians, this is useful sand and dirt. Plus, it’s free–at least it’s free for Wilton residents.

The pile is located just up the main drive onto the town hall campus, just to the left. If you bring your own bins and containers, plus a shovel, you are welcome to take some at no charge to help you survive the winter months and the inevitable ice that comes with it. Like the ice we’re experiencing right now.

We’ve known about this little gift the town provides for Wilton residents, and living on a driveway with a relatively steep grade, it’s made the difference for being able to get out our driveway all winter long.

For that we’re grateful. Especially because that means I can do my job, which sometimes involves the hunt to uncover a different kind of dirt, but that’s another story entirely.
