On a corridor like Rte. 7/Danbury Rd., it’s not unusual to start to blur together the office buildings, retail shops and restaurants that line the roadway. But there’s only one sign that says, “Psychic of Wilton,” and it’s immediately eye-catching.

Stepping into the quaint cottage that houses her office, visitors are greeted by Annmarie Marks, who says her calling is to helping people gain self understanding and manifest what they want out of life.

When she works with a client, Marks said that she doesn’t want to be “shaken like a Magic-8 ball,” although that is what some people expect of her. Rather, she sees her job as more of a spiritual coach.

“My goal is to help heal and guide people. [I want] to work with them on a very deep, intuitive level to achieve their goals, whatever they may be — love, career, finance… I work on a lot of different levels.”

Marks has been in and around psychic practices her entire life and her skills seem to run in the family. She described how many women in her family are “intuitives” of some kind — a term she defined as an umbrella label for anyone with heightened spiritual abilities. This can include psychics, but also people like mediums and clairvoyants. In her own family, prophetic dreams were the norm.

Marks started to experience her own gift around the age of nine. One fateful afternoon at school, she started seeing messages on the chalk board in class that were not actually written, but somehow revealed information to her about the teacher’s personal life.

The teacher alerted Marks’ mother, who began helping hone her daughter’s skills. This instruction started as deep meditation, a practice Marks has already started to work on with her own young daughter.

While she is accustomed to a certain attitude of suspicion from doubters, her response has always been that she has nothing to prove.

“Skepticism is natural — it shows discernment, which I actually respect. My work isn’t about convincing anyone; it’s about offering insight, alignment and resonance. For those who feel called, the experience speaks for itself. And for those who don’t, that’s perfectly okay,” Marks said. “I always say: the intuitive path is one you’re invited to walk, never pushed toward.”

For someone who does feel called to take that journey, Marks offers a variety of different readings and services. Clients can receive a tarot reading, a psychic reading or, Marks’ favorite, a combination reading. She also offers house cleansings, guided meditations and spiritual consulting.

“My work is sacred, confidential and rooted in integrity,” Marks said. “Whether you’re navigating loss, transitions, relationships or simply seeking a deeper connection to your purpose, I create a safe and compassionate space to explore those questions.”

Marks emphasized that there is nothing to be afraid of when entering a session with her.

“It’s not scary, I don’t mess with spooky things. Just come in open-hearted and open-minded, knowing what you want to know, and not afraid of what the answers are.”

Outside of work, Marks described her life as “very family-oriented.” If she’s not at her Rte. 7 office, she’s either at home with her kids or traveling for work, which often brings her to New York City and even as far afield as London. Her travels can be for one-on-one readings, but she also frequently provides her services at events like parties or fundraisers.

Although her practice has now settled here in Wilton, she has spent the past 15 years working around the Northeast, including in the Hamptons and other towns in Fairfield County.

Marks credited Wilton’s energy for her longevity here, noting that she felt “called” to Wilton, like “a door opened.”

“Wilton is very warm, very loving, and everyone here is very open-minded. I believe Wilton is ready for deeper conversations about intuition, energy, and spiritual clarity, and I’m honored to contribute to that dialogue,” Marks said.
