For the first time Wilton Youth Cheerleading will be offering a Spring Clinic for Cheerleaders and non-Cheerleaders, offered by United Cheerleading Association (UCA), which has been Wilton Youth Cheerleading’s program of choice for several years now.
UCA coaches are the top cheerleading instructors in the country and are selected based on their skill, knowledge, experience and teaching ability. According to Wilton Youth Cheerleading officials, UCA is the most up-to-date on everything pertaining to the sport of cheerleading and are AACCA safety-certified.
“The UCA Cheerleaders are warm, friendly and bring a personal touch when working with our girls as well as great instruction. It is a fun program with so many fun aspect,” says Mary Chila, co-director of Wilton Youth Cheerleading.
The clinic will build on each individual cheerleader’s existing skills, but organizers say that no experience is necessary. Participating athletes will learn cheers, dance routines and stunts, and they will also play some fun games to promote camaraderie.
The clinic will meet for five sessions beginning Friday, May 1 at Middlebrook School from 4:30-6:30 p.m.. The cost to participate is $85. Registration can be completed online until this Friday, April 24. For more information visit the Wilton Youth Football/Cheer website.
