Come out to Wilton’s Holiday Stroll tonight and join Santa Claus and First Selectman Bill Brennan as Wilton lights up the town tree! Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Santa and Wilton’s First Selectman will make their way into Wilton Center on a red sleigh, ushered by the Wilton Fire Department. Their destination is the gazebo on the village green. Children of all ages will have the chance to share their holiday wishes with Santa, who will have a special treat for each child, courtesy of Village Market. The Wilton High School Band will provide the soundtrack of the night, showcasing their talent and holiday spirit.
Visit the many merchants around our town as they open their doors for holiday cheer, special treats and shopping! Plus, Shop Wilton participants will receive a special stamp on their Shop Wilton passport for any purchases made during the Holiday Stroll.
Among the highlights, be sure to look for these events:
- the Wilton Woman’s Club Junior Leadership Giving Tree, near the Village Luncheonette, to help out Wilton families in need who have young children.
- Holiday Boutique at The Conservatory of Dance hosted by owner Christine Titus and Melly Bonita, a Stella & Dot stylist. Immediately following the stroll (7-9 p.m.) they’ll be offering wine and cheese to shoppers, as well as fun raffles and prizes, and they’ll be selling Stella & Dot jewelry, accessories and dancewear, including tutus, leotards, warm up clothes, skirts and more. People interested in stopping by are asked to RSVP to Christine Titus at the dance studio at 203.544.8455.
- Stop by the Wilton Library to enjoy some refreshments and a blazing fire in the fireplace to warm up from the cold, winter night. This year, River Road Gallery has its opening reception for the December art exhibition at the Library during the Holiday Walk. A little something for everyone. The Library will also unveil their Giving Tree for donors to purchase an “ornament” representing an item the Library would like to acquire.
Please note: The Holiday Stroll is a rain or shine event. In the event of any impending weather, Santa will be at the Wilton Library, located next to the Town Green.
This article has been updated with information on the new location for the JLP Giving Tree. The location has been changed due to the rainy weather.
