The Wilton Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of the popular Scarecrow Fest this fall in Wilton Center.

In cooperation with Trackside Teen Center, the Town of Wilton, Parks and Recreation and the Department of Public Works, the Scarecrow Fest will run from Friday, Oct. 14 through Monday, Oct. 31.

“We are very excited to bring back the Scarecrow Fest this year. The scarecrows really add to the fall festive spirit in town and help make the village come alive,” says Mark Ketley, Chamber Board president, adding, “The scarecrow fest enhances our Halloween Walk and Trick or Treat Parade, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29, and the Halloween Hustle 5K and Scarecrow Scamper for Kids, on Sunday, Oct. 30th.

For individuals, groups and businesses interested in participating, the pertinent information and dates are:

  • Registration and payment must be received by the chamber by Friday, Sept. 30. Scarecrow kits may be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce at 86 Old Ridgefield Rd., or on the Chamber website. The cost of the kit is $30 and includes the wooden post frame and hay to build the scarecrow.
  • Kits may be picked up from Monday, Oct. 3 through Friday, Oct. 7 at Trackside, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. only.
  • Finished scarecrows must be delivered to Trackside on Wednesday, Oct. 12 or Thursday, Oct. 13 only, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m..
  • The scarecrows will be put up in the center of town on Friday, Oct. 14, where they will remain until Monday, Oct. 31.
